Toskan ikan yang telah dicuci dan kelar sedikit jika perlu. Tumbuk halia, kunyit dan garam sehingga lumat dan lumurkan pada ikan. Bakar ikan dengan api sederhana sehingga masak. Lebih harum jika dibungkus dengan daun kunyit sewaktu membakar.
